Thrifted Prints + Why Thrifting Makes Me Happy

If you know me, you know I absolutely love to thrift. Thrifting is something I have been doing since I was in high school, but I remember my first encounter with thrifting as a little girl. I remember going to a local consignment shop downtown with my mom around the age of five. My mom has always been an impeccable dresser and she would take pieces (...I mainly remember suits) to the consignment store to sell. I used to love looking around the store to see what they had for sale and they had everything from clothing to books to toys.

Fast forward to high school and my obsession with style magazines began. I grew up in a small town and I remember being obsessed with big cities and high fashion. Well, I was nowhere near the city and most definitely could not afford designer clothing. So, what do you do? You improvise! I would go to our local consignment store and try to recreate the looks I would see in magazines. It wasn't long before I really discovered that you could not only find current trends, but one of a kind pieces in thrift stores. I loved the thrill of the hunt and that I never knew what I would find when I would go thrifting.

So, here I am... Years later and I still love thrifting. I recently visited Mega Thrift during their 50% off clothing sale and let's just say, I spent two hours shopping. I found so many great pieces including the top in today's post. The top was actually a set that had to be sold together in order to purchase it. The set included a matching top and skirt for $4. I took the top and paired it with the $5 shorts I last wore here. I threw on fun glasses I found at Citi Trends for $3.49 and I just love how fun this outfit is. To me, it screams vacation and I'm here for it!
