Have you created a list of goals for yourself for 2019? I started off the new year thinking about my aspirations and goals for this year and if I'm being honest, it was hard for me to pinpoint the things I really wanted to achieve this year. God has been so good to me over the last few years and all of the goals and things I really wanted to do, He allowed me to achieve. So, how do you create new goals when all the ones you dreamed of before have been completed? As someone told me on Twitter, it is time to dream bigger!
As I was thinking about some of my goals for this year, I was a little leery of putting them into the atmosphere. That's partly because I can be a pretty private person at times; however, I really think it's important to share my dreams to not only hold myself accountable, but encourage others to put their dreams to paper or in this case, keyboard. So with that said, when I really sat down and thought about the personal things I wanted to do this year, I came up with three that were super important to me.
My Three Personal Goals for 2019
1. Take my first sewing class.
One thing I have always wanted to do is be able to sew and make minor alterations to pieces on my own. Surprisingly, sewing was not something I learned growing up and for awhile, I didn't see it as an issue. As I've gotten older, I just hate having to take pieces to a tailor for something as simple as putting a button back on or hemming a piece. So, instead of continuing the pattern, why not do something about it? I found that JOANN offers a variety of affordable classes, in-store and online. They have a Learn to Sew class that I plan to sign up for. It's a one-day class for only $35. I can't wait to go and share my experience with you all.
2. Host a closet sale!
Listen... I have heard you ladies LOUD and clear. Ha! From my co-workers to friends to followers, I have had so many ladies share that wish they could take a peek into my closet. How about I finally give you the chance? I am looking at hosting an actual closet sale very soon in Greensboro, North Carolina. The pieces will be affordable and of course, fabulous. Plus, you don't have to be plus size to find some dope things. I will have plenty of accessories. If you want to be kept in the loop, be sure to sign up for the FabEllis newsletter here.
3. Begin writing my first book.
Some of you may not know this, but writing is my first love. Before FabEllis, I was a girl that loved all things beauty and fashion and wanted to write about them for a major magazine. Fast forward to today and I have created a space for that, but there is a part of me that wants to have my own in hand, published piece. Although I will keep the subject and release of the book to myself for a bit longer, I am definitely beginning the writing process. I'm excited to share more soon!
What is one goal you have for yourself this year?
God bless & stay fab,
