Cutoffs + Fishnets

Did you know that one of the best ways to get the greatest deals on pieces for your wardrobe is by shopping out of season? If you're like me, when you shop, you want to wear your pieces now! I totally get it, but it wasn't until I started working in retail that I really saw the power of shopping out of season. We are officially in winter, but do you know I have seen shorts, t-shirts and sandals for as little as $4 over the past few weeks? With seasons going by as quickly as they do, you don't have to wait long to wear your pieces you buy now. Plus, like in today's post, with the right accessories, some out of season pieces can be rocked now.

I found the shorts in today's post during one of my random trips to Charlotte Russe. As I mentioned in this post, I've been making more stops into Charlotte Russe lately because I've been impressed with their plus size selection. When I saw these cutoff shorts, I knew immediately that these would be perfect to add to my closet. While shopping, it is really great to have a mental inventory of your wardrobe because if you know what you have and/or what you want to add to it, it's easier to shop and add those pieces when you find great deals on them.

I knew I didn't have a pair of shorts with frayed hems so when I saw these for only $10, I snatched them up. My initial thought was to hold onto them until the summer, but after receiving these Dr. Martens for Christmas, I realized that maybe rocking the shorts with tights could allow me to wear them now. The outfit I created has all the things I love like color, prints and texture. I took these shorts and added this bright green sweater, a moto jacket and a $6 hat I also found at Charlotte Russe. This is by far, is one of my favorite outfits. Anytime you can mix affordability with edginess, I'm a happy woman!
