The Baker Boy Hat

I love a good hat. It's funny because I didn't wear hats for the longest due to my super thick hair and slightly big head, but one of the joys of shorter hair is that I can finally wear the hats I have always dreamed of! At one point, I was super obsessed with all hats, but I scaled back over the last few years. It wasn't until I ran across the hat I'm wearing today that I had to indulge yet again. Baker boy and newsboy hats are very popular this season and I love the fact that this one not only looks more expensive than it actually is (...only $10), but it looks so cute on. I put the question out to Instagram of, "What would you wear with this hat?" I got so many great responses!

One of the answers I loved most was rocking the baker boy hat with wide leg jeans and a long sleeve top. The best part of this answer was that I already had these pieces in my wardrobe. Easy outfit? YES! You all may remember the striped top I'm wearing from last year when I rocked it with shorts here. I loved this top so much that when I saw it one weekend while in Atlanta, I immediately regretted not buying it. I came home and ordered it immediately. These wide leg jeans have been in my closet for literally forever and I still love them.

I don't know about you ladies, but I am all about shopping my closet this year. After working in retail the last few years, I can tell you that a lot of styles return each year with just small tweaks to them. My focus right now is, as always, classic pieces. If you have a great pair of jeans or pants and a classic top, it is so easy to create new looks. Just adding simple accessories like my hat for example can create a totally new look. Honestly, I am really happy with the pieces I have invested in over the last few years because they wash well and are still my go tos today.
