Last weekend, I was asked if I was pregnant. At the time, I was more so shocked than anything else and couldn't bring myself to say anything beyond, "No." If you truly know me, you know my style varies from day to day. It's honestly one thing I love about myself. The day before I wore this Victoria Beckham for Target dress, I was in a swimsuit sunbathing at Wrightsville Beach. The next day, I felt like not only being comfortable, but finally wearing this dress I copped for $10. My hair was an absolute mess so the easy solution for comfort and messy hair is a turban, loose dress and Chucks. I totally didn't think it would result in me being asked if I was pregnant.
Of all places, I was asked in church. Yes... Church! After the service was over, I was asked while the person made a circular hand motion around my stomach. As I had time to think about it, I realized how inappropriate and insensitive it was. You should never ever ask a woman if she's pregnant. If she wants you to know, she will tell you. It also baffles me that people think it's absolutely fine to ask. I told my mother after the service and she just chalked it up to the type of dress I was wearing. No matter what someone is wearing or what they may look like, don't ask.
I love this dress. It's so modestly, cute and fun! I am so sad that I missed the black and white version of it online. By the way, if you haven't seen, Target officially yanked the rest of the Victoria Beckham for Target Collection off their website about a week ago. I know the Victoria Beckham for Target Collection was not a favorite for many, but I ended up liking it much more than I thought I would. I kept this look super easy by wearing my favorite turban, Chucks and this Kate Spade bag I purchased in Florida.
