Beauties,
Spring is in full swing and I’m completely (honestly, truly) here for it. Spring is one of my favorite seasons because
it’s not too warm, tights are not required and I can overall, be
comfortable. When it comes to warmer
weather, my mind automatically goes to fun dresses. If you have been following my blog for some
time, you know I’m all about a
great dress. The one thing we have
not talked about on the blog, though, is shapewear. Believe it or not, I don’t often wear shapewear. So, when I was contacted by Kohl’s to try
three types of their shapewear, I knew it would be great for not only myself,
but for you all to see how it works with some of my favorite spring dresses.
For my casual look, which is perfect for daytime whether running
errands on Saturday morning or hanging with the girls, I chose the Plus Size Naomi & Nicole Firm Control High-Waist Thigh Slimmer.
I chose the Thigh Slimmer because on Saturdays, I want to be comfortable and smooth. The slimmer definitely gives control without
feeling too tight. Plus, no
chafing! It helped smooth my stomach
under my dress and made me feel confident.
Plus, the top comes right up to the bottom of my bra and I loved how
fully covered I felt.
Now when it comes to work wear, for me, it’s important to
be smooth and look professional. I chose
to wear the Bali 2-pack Light Control Tummy Panel Shaping Briefs because I felt it would smooth my
stomach without feeling constricting. It
fits tighter than the Plus Size Naomi & Nicole Firm Control High-Waist Thigh Slimmer, but it helps
smooth my stomach the way I wanted.
The last shapewear piece I wore is the Maidenform Shapewear Ultimate Slimmer Torsette Body Briefer. I
knew this would be perfect for a bodycon dress so I pulled out this cute, black
cold shoulder dress I bought on clearance last year. I will be honest and say that the Body Briefer was truly a
tight fit and a bit difficult for me to put on.
I ordered a 3X, but I feel it runs small so if I had to do it over
again, I would definitely go up a size.
I did, however, like the smoothing it gave in my dress. The only con to this shapewear piece is that
it snaps closed between the legs so in order to use the bathroom, I’d have to
unsnap, go and then snap again.
I learned so much while trying these three pieces of
shapewear. If I had to choose a favorite
piece, it would be the Plus Size Naomi & Nicole Firm Control High-Waist Thigh Slimmer. I feel it works great with dresses and
pants. Plus, they were smoothing without
being completely uncomfortable and it has lining to keep it in place. To learn more about Kohl’s shapewear, click here.
