Fashion | Seven Transitional Must-Haves for Fall

Beauties,

I know that we still have a few weeks until the official start of fall, but everywhere you go, people are talking about the fall season.  Fall fashion is at the stores, football is on television and it's already starting to cool off in some areas.  Fall is my favorite season so I can hardly wait for the cooler weather.  As we get ready to transition into fall, I've started pinning some of my favorite fall looks on Pinterest.  I thought it would be a great idea to share a few transitional pieces that would be perfect to transition your wardrobe to fall.  The great thing about a lot of these pieces is that you can easily find them at thrift or consignment stores.

Seven Transitional Must-Haves for Fall

1.  Boots

Let's be honest...  When you think of fall, one of the first things that comes to mind is boots.  Boots are just so fun.  They come in all different sizes and heights.  You can wear flat boots to a football game and then change to a high heel, ankle boot for the party.  I love a great pair of boots.  These fringe boots I wore last year were so fun.  See the full post here.

2.  Sweater Vest

Sweater vests are an amazing addition to your wardrobe because not everyday in fall requires a heavy coat.  A sweater vest gives you warmth and style all in one.  Plus, they can be dressed down with sneakers or dressed up for work.  I fell in love with this Adam Lippes for Target sweater vest last year when it was released.  I wore it so many ways last year, but mixing prints with this striped dress was one of my favorite styles.  See the full post here.

3.  Hat

The great thing about hats is that they can be worn all year.  It seems that during fall, though, so many hats come out to play.  As fall approaches, you start to see more hats coming out in stores.  From fedoras to floppy hats, I love them all.  While there is absolutely nothing wrong with a great black hat, why not try a fun color like olive or oxblood this fall?  I found this grey hat while visiting Detroit last year.  I loved it so much that I bought it and wore it on the plane home.  See the full post here.

4.  Tights

With the cooler weather approaching, it's essential to have tights in your arsenal.  This is also a great time to get tights if you're plus size because tights quickly get sold out in many mainstream stores such as Lane Bryant.  Tights keep you warm in the cool weather, but they can also add some funk to your outfit.  Tights come in so many colors and patterns.  I love taking an all black outfit and adding patterned tights or even colored tights such as plum.  Even though I'm a lover of color, I even like wearing all black including tights in fall too like in the picture below.  See the full post featuring this outfit here.

5.  Leather

What is fall without leather?  Fall and no leather makes no sense.  I think leather is essential to the upcoming season.  It instantly adds a cool factor to your outfit and can be worn so many ways.  I have worn leather to work, to church and on date night.  It's all in how you wear it.  I purchased this faux leather peplum during a blogger's closet sale a few years ago and it's become a staple in my closet.  In the picture below, I even styled it to wear to work with a thrifted shirt.  I received so many compliments on this look.  See the full post here.

6.  Scarf

For those chilly days, a scarf is great to have.  Fall is all about layering and a scarf is an essential layer.  It can keep your face and neck warm, but it can be a cool accessory too.  I love dope colors and prints that scarves come in.  I was sent this scarf a couple of years ago to style on the blog.  It was incredibly warm, but I loved the Aztec print too.  See the full post here.

7.  Jacket

A jacket is a must for fall.  It not only combats the cooler weather, but just like a scarf, it's a great layering piece to keep you warm.  Bomber jackets are super popular this year.  While I'm still on the hunt for one, I also love long blazers as jackets.  I found this blue jacket a few years ago at Old Navy.  I wasn't quite sure how to wear it at first, but I ended up falling in love with it.  It was light enough to wear in fall, but also a good layering piece in winter.  See the full post here.

Which transitional piece will you be adding to your wardrobe?

God bless & stay fab,
