It's been awhile since I've done a mascara review. Although I love big, fabulous lashes, you all know that certain items tend to stay in constant repeat in my daily makeup routine. I was excited when I recently met Atiya, an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay. In talking to her, she told me about the new Mary Kay Lash Intensity Mascara that was coming out and all of the amazing feedback it was getting so far. When it was released, she sent me a sample to try. After wearing it over the last week, I wanted to share my thoughts with you on this new, highly buzzed about mascara.

My Thoughts
I was pretty pumped to give the Mary Kay Lash Intensity Mascara a try. When it arrived in the mail, I immediately used it the next day. The first thing I noticed with this mascara is the brush is huge. My typical mascara has a smaller sized brush so this brush took a little time to get used to. In fact, the first time I used it, I wasn't pleased with the results. My lashes didn't look like they had much volume so I decided to practice a bit more.
The second time I tried it, I used my Wet 'n Wild Photo Focus Lash Primer. I also took a little more time to apply the mascara by using the smaller bristles to plump the lash and then the longer bristles towards the back of the brush to elongate my lashes. Boom! That's when I got the true effects. I loved how long my lashes looked. My eyes looked so bright and honestly, it looked like I was wearing falsies. As you can see from the pictures above, the mascara also looks great without primer, but the primer gives it a little more volume and oomph. Plus, I have been able to wear this mascara all day without any irritation or raccoon eyes.
My only issue with this mascara is obviously the price point. I'm pretty much a $10 and under type of girl, but this mascara retails for $18. Do I think it's worth it? Absolutely! Could I get a similar result with a cheaper mascara? Perhaps! The thing I've realized with drugstore mascaras is that my eyes tend to get irritated after long wear and it really takes work to pump up my lashes. I love that the Lash Intensity Mascara pumps them up easily. Plus, it was very easy to remove with my favorite makeup remover, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
Would I Recommend?
Yes. I understand that the price is a bit high and that the brush can be a learning curve, but this really makes your lashes look amazing. Plus, it's very easy to remove, which gets two thumbs up in my book! To learn more about the Mary Kay Lash Intensity Mascara, e-mail atiyamcneal@marykay.com.
