During my two years of blogging, I have shared a lot with you all. I have shared my beauty favorites, my thrift store finds and insight into my natural hair journey. One thing I have not shared much about myself on the blog is literally that... I haven't shared much about myself or who I am.
A recent post in the Facebook group, Bloggers Like Me, made me think about sharing something with you. They asked bloggers to post about goals for the upcoming year or what they are thankful for. Well, today, I was thankful for something major. Yesterday was my first day of being back to work.
On October 31, my job ended. Even though I knew the job was ending and I had been applying for jobs for months, the last day of my job came and I had no job to go to. I packed up my box and went home. I proceeded to file for unemployment, which was only a portion of what I had been making monthly. My days consisted of prayer and applying for jobs.

One of the things I was thankful for during this time was seeing how much my family and friends truly cared for me. Before my job ended, I received cards and even after, constant encouragement through texts, messages and phone calls. The fact of the matter though was that unemployment was hard and as the days went by, I was becoming stressed with how I was going to pay my bills. The favor of God saved me when I was just about to really freak out!
I'm thankful today to say I'm working again. I was unemployed for less than 40 days. God truly worked a miracle for me. I could never thank God enough.
As we enter a new year, please remember to be thankful for even the small things. You never know how your life can change from one day to the next. Thanks for continually reading my blog.
God bless you and stay fabellis!

This is an awesome share, Ashley. God is so good! I'm happy for you--that you were blessed with another job and that you have supportive people around you to encourage and strengthen you.
ReplyDeleteThe smiling pic nearing the end of the post is saying something! I love it :)
Touching post!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going through something similar. I work in the Mental Health field, I haven't lost my job completely, but I have suffered a significant decrease in clients. Through it all I trust God just as you did. Testimony & praise report is on the way!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new job! What a true blessing! I was wondering how your job search was going and I'm glad to know that it was successful and that your unemployment was so short.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new job! And, girl, I know exactly what you went through. I was laid off back in '09 and was unemployed and on unemployment benefits for almost two years. Gosh, it was so hard trying to be optimistic and positive when the multitude of applications and multitude of interviews continued to fall through. But what got me through were my family and friends support and blogging. As of right now, I've been employed for almost a year with a great company that I actually like. Though it's a bit far from where I live, I am forever grateful.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, cute look. And I love the 2nd photo; it looks like you are dancing.
A huge congrats and returning to work! It's amazing how God can reveal so much to us during our moments when we feel at our lowest. Huge congrats and I'll be checking in on your blog. I am really loving it by the way. :-)
ReplyDeletePowerful and I absolutely LOVE this post. Truly an inspiration for women across the nations - I am so happy and proud of you. God is truly faithful to those who service him - HUGS AND KISSES...ebby K
ReplyDeleteAmen! Congratulations Ashley! God is so faithful. Thanks for sharing your testimony with us.
ReplyDeleteI share a similar testimony...God is certainly faithful and will work everything for your good as long as you love Him and choose to walk in His purpose. And because you shared this, you will be blessed. To God be the Glory for the things He has done (and will do) in your life! Blessings...
ReplyDeleteThis truly made me smile. I was jobless for two months and in limbo wondering how I was going to make it but through faith, prayer and an amazing family I made it through. Continue to be blessed! You are destined for great things!

ReplyDeleteI know that this is an old post, but it really encouraged me!! My job ended back in October and I have been unemployed ever since. Yes its hard and I get down sometimes, but I'm praying everyday for my blessing and I know that its on its way! :) And through the midst of it all, I have never wanted for anything and my bills have been paid! There is always a blessing in the "bad" times!
