Throughout the past week, I had been anticipating and raving on Facebook about the upcoming concert I was going to attend! I was so excited that I would be able to attend the Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Beauty That Starts Deeper Concert Series featuring Elle Varner. This past Thursday, the concert was held at the Durham Armory.
Before attending the event, I had to decide on my ensemble. I decided to mix prints by wearing a bodycon dress from Curve Culture and leopard printed wedges. The fit of the dress was perfect and incredibly comfortable.
Dress: C/O Curve Culture | Necklace: H&M (Another Option)| Wedges: Target (Here + ON SALE) |
I threw on a thrifted blazer to combat the chilly weather. After I got it together, my date and I were out the door. Upon arrival, guests' e-mail addresses were registered at the sign in table and you had the opportunity to have your photo snapped in front of a Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy backdrop.
After your photo opportunity, guests rounded the corner to enter into a sophisticated, sultry atmosphere. Upon walking into the room, you were surrounded by beautiful, black seating, dimmed lights and lit candles. Waiters with tasty hors d'oeuvres were circling the room and the dj was playing some of the latest tunes.
I was seated in a special area near the stage. Before the concert began, I enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres and chatted. Later, I was given the opportunity to meet Elle Varner. She was incredibly nice and she loved my dress!
Less than half an hour later, Elle came through the crowd and got the show started. She sang several songs, including her popular song, "Refill." If you have never seen her perform, it is definitely worth seeing because her voice is beautiful.
After the 45 minute set, guests were thanked for coming and on the way out, each guest was given a black gift bag with the latest issue of Ebony and sample sizes of Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Ultra Shea shampoo and conditioner.
I truly enjoyed this event! To learn more about Clear Ultra Shea and the Beauty That Starts Deeper Concert Series, like their Facebook page.
