The first two weeks of the Fab Werkwear Series have been amazing! So many ladies have linked up and used the hashtag on Instagram. Last week, I saw some of my favorite prints including leopard and print. This week's challenge is leather. Leather was a material I had never worn to work before last year until I fell in love with a faux leather pleated skirt by Ashley Stewart. Ever since then, I've loved leather in and outside of work.
This week, I'm excited to have The Jenesaisquoi joining the series! Her style is one I have admired for awhile now. Her style is the epitome of fun and sophistication. I love how she styled this leather pencil skirt. To see more of her look, click here.
For this week's challenge, I chose to wear this faux leather sheath dress from Lane Bryant. I shared a picture of the dress while I was trying it on on Instagram. I decided to pair it with a thrifted button up and this trench dress from Ann Taylor that I wore as a vest. I love this sheath dress because it's easy to dress up for work or going out. Wearing a button up under the dress, easily turns it into a new look.
Style Tip: When it comes to wearing leather to work, it's very similar to prints. Wearing a single leather piece gives a bit of edge that still allows you to be professional. I love leather tops, blazers and skirts. Plus, items like this can easily be styled for work or a night out. You get more bang for your buck!

I love it that you made a dress into a vest. Great idea! I love the whole look. I never wore leather to work when I was working, but it wasn't as available as it is today. There are so many items that have just a touch of leather in them. I have a shirt that has half of the back covered in faux leather.
ReplyDeleteLeather looks good on you!!! Plus-that lipstick is everything! You look amazing and perfectly put together for Fall!
ReplyDeleteYour style is to die for!! Gorgeous :)

ReplyDeleteOh I love how you layered that leather sheath with a trent dress. You look beautiful and rockin'! Just the right amount of leather does give an edge and is still sophisticated. I wish I had a few more pieces. :)
ReplyDeleteI kept trying to figure out where you got a trench vest and saw it was really a dress, so clever. You look great in this leather dress and how you made it work appropriate.
