Today is the final day of the June Style Challenge. For five weeks, I shared my interpretation of a weekly style prompt and I appreciate you following the journey with me. The final challenge for June is "Polka Dots and Stripes." Of course, I love polka dots so I thought this would be easy; however, as I looked back on the month's style challenge, I realized I wore more black than I anticipated. With this in mind, I tried to add color to this week's challenge.
The color part didn't work out so well! Ha! Of course, black is still a part of the equation, but I added a yellow shirt I recently thrifted. The shirt is a mixture of gingham and polka dots, but unfortunately, it doesn't come across through the camera. Thankfully, I had already thrown a polka dot clutch (last seen here) in the mix. What I love most about this outfit is that the entire look was under $70!

Thrift Tip: Most thrift stores have a weekly and/or monthly day where items are at least 50% off. If you are in North Carolina, Value Village has 50% off every last Wednesday of the month. That's how I scored my shirt for only $2.

Do you rock polka dots and stripes? What would you have worn?
God bless & stay fabellis,
I love this look! I need to start wearing pencil skirts a lot more. I loved watching you ladies doing this challenge, it helped give me some fashion ideas.

ReplyDeleteHey Carmen! Thanks for coming by and I appreciate the compliment! :-) Your wedding was gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! It pains me a little when I see people wearing heavy makeup and you can see that their covering acne. I wish they knew you have to heal the source before you add anything.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you mixed stripes and polka dots. I have a similar skirt and a black and white peplum top. I may try that combination and just stick my toe in with print mixing...lol. I feel a monochromatic look will help me test the waters in doing this :)
ReplyDeletelove love this shirt with the skirt - it makes it so classic. That clutch is too cute.
ReplyDeleteI love the clutch and skirt. i am just wondering the other day if stripes and polka dots could be worn together.
ReplyDeleteI am really feeling that skirt!! love it!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about doing it but don't have a good enough camera and I need a tripod. I do wear some cute stuff since I'm always shopping for clothes. Something for me to think about.

ReplyDeleteI don't have rosacea, but I do suffer from eczema. It flares up when the seasons change, or due to pregnancy. I get these dark circles and patches on my neck and jawline. It's spread to my mouth this time. The skin around my lips started to look 4 times lighter than my actual shade. I was tripping out for a while. Friends and family who are close to me see me without makeup, and they would tell me that they could barely see it. They're such kind liars lol. I was pouring on BB cream to cover it up out of self consciousness. BB cream has plenty of moisture of it, so it turns out that I was actually helping my skin (along with the medicated cream prescribed by my doctor). My normal skin care routine consists of an cream cleanser for my neck and mouth, and a regular Clean and Clear cleanser for everywhere else. I have to exfoliate twice (maybe three times) a week. And I use a Buff Puff whenever I was my face and neck area.
ReplyDeleteThese are the A,B,C of me and my skincare.
This whole getup is speaking volumes to me! I know I claimed the skirt and bag on IG, but just send it all!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks Tenisha!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! 50% off days at the thrift stores are the only time I thrift shop. :-)
